Call Summary The TX-RMOMS network aims to improve infant health and maternal care among women living in southwest Texas, specifically in the counties of Val Verde, Uvalde, Edwards, Real, Kinney, and Zavala. Help us capture the unique essence of healing and hope inspired by images of women and children from the rural counties listed above. |
Budget Description Recipients of selected artworks will receive a $250.00 gift card. Up to 20 artworks may be selected. |
Project Description If selected University Health will receive photographic images electronically and fabricate them onto metal for hanging. Please do not submit photographs that are politically charged, religious based, show excessive nudity, depict violence or traumatic events (stabbing, blood, sharp objects) or use imagery that symbolize death. These will not be accepted. Artwork must also: Exclude imagery that has negative cultural association such as cacti or owls. |
Artwork Goals University Health and its Salud-Arte: Art of Healing Program strive to create and commission artworks that reflect aesthetic and technical quality and foster a welcoming, uplifting environment for healing. Submitted photographs for the Women’s and Children’s Hospital will be an aesthetically pleasing focal point for patients, visitors, and staff alike. The artwork must consider the safety of the hospital’s visitors and should be easy to clean and maintain. |
Artwork Location Description All selected artworks will be displayed at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital located with the Medical Center at 4502 Medical Drive, San Antonio, Texas. |
Eligibility The project is open to everyone 18 years and older, residing in the counties of Val Verde, Uvalde, Edwards, Real, Kinney, and Zavala. All applicants, regardless of race, sex, religion, nationality, origin or disability, will be considered. |

Selection Information |
Selection Process Submitted photographs will be reviewed by the RMOMS Committee. The RMOMS Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any and all responses received through this RFP. Artists are strongly discouraged from mailing or hand delivering physical materials or samples of artwork for the committee’s consideration. Any materials received will not be returned to the artist. By entering the contest, each contestant warrants that the submission is the contestant’s original work. Original artwork submitted becomes the property of University Health and Contestant hereby consents to its use by University Health. Winners must assign all copyright, trademarks and other intellectual property rights related to their entries to University Health. In consideration of participating in the contest, contestant releases, discharges, and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless University Health from any claim arising from the use or display of the Contestant's submitted artwork.
