Call Summary
CAUSA (Culture and Arts United for San Antonio) and Centro SA/The Art Everywhere Project, invite San Antonio artists to submit concept completed original artworks to be transformed into large scale 2D artworks to be installed on business facades across downtown San Antonio, Applicants who truly believe in the transformative power of artists and art in the public realm are encouraged to apply.

CAUSA
Culture and Arts United for San Antonio (CAUSA), a collective of more than 40 advocates and leaders from San Antonio’s arts and culture organizations designed to raise public awareness of the value of arts and culture to San Antonio’s economic and cultural vibrancy. Celebrated for its rich traditions, the Alamo City’s culture is rooted in the arts. Budget Description
Ten artists will have their work selected for the CAUSA +Centro San Antonio “Art Everywhere Project” and receive a $2,500 honorarium. The selected artworks will be enlarged and printed on a substrate to be installed on the walls of participating buildings across the urban core.

Artists are invited to submit up to three original artworks to be considered for this opportunity. Winning artists and their works will be celebrated in traditional and social media, when the winning works are announced and when they debut.
 
Project Description
Artists may submit up to 3 artworks for consideration by the selection panel, along with an artist bio in PDF format to include their name and current contact information. A brief artist statement is optional. Selected artists will have their work exhibited on Centro San Antonio’s business partner’s buildings for 2 years (exact dates TBD) and will be featured in online, PR and social media platforms, along with a QR code so the public can learn more about the artist.
Each submission will be considered based on its conceptually compelling and aesthetically excellent (preferably in color) and elicit excitement and interest from the community and visitors to downtown.
 
Eligibility
This opportunity is open to all professional artists, age 18 and over and residing in Bexar County, regardless of residence, race, color, religion, national origin, gender, military status, sexual orientation, marital status, or physical or mental disability. No prior mural or public art experience is necessary.

Artists are allowed to apply in teams.
Artists applying as a team must split the allotted number of work examples between themselves.

Selection Information
Selection Process
A panel of jurors will be secured and assigned the task of selecting the (10) finalists for this project; Centro San Antonio & CAUSA will reserve the right to approve the winning artists and concepts, as well as the location for each work selected.

 
Selection Criteria
Each submission should be a completed piece of work; if submitted with the original dimensions, it should be a high quality image (PDF or .jpeg) at 125 dpi. However, if the original work is larger, and scaled down to 50% for submission, the work should be at 300 dpi. (This is necessary in order to maintain the quality and clarity of the artwork, as the selected works will be transformed into a large scale piece.) Submissions should be no smaller than 11” x 17". Timeline
The submission portal will close at 6 p.m. on June 30. Judging will take place the week of July 12, with the artists of winning submissions to be notified the week of July 19. Honorarium payments will be made the week of August 2 , with all works installed by August 31, weather and other conditions permitting.
